Help Support the Artists Co Working Space.

The Arts co working space is helping to build capacity by utilizing the existing local networks I have established over the years. With a three pronged holistic approach Amani Leo, Coffee Trail and Draw Change Africa.

Impact.

The initiation of StreetLights Uganda by far is the biggest testimony of what I do. This is an organisation that was incubated under my watchful eye and was made possible after I offered internships to three young students in their second year at the Art school Makerere University Kampala Uganda. I struggled to find placement while at the same stage so It became an opportunity through which my vision of mentoring next generation creative leaders would be fulfilled. During the three months I had with them, I made it clear that employment was harder for artists and that I would love for them to seek out possibilities through which their art could add value to community.
The task was for each one of them to identify need in Kampala the capital city of Uganda. They pitched before me and my peers and we were able to guide them towards selecting the best idea. It turned out that Victoria Merab smiling in yellow convinced everyone that using art to empower street children and therefore get them off the streets, was the way to go. And now what was a simple campaign has since evolved into a none profit organisation reaching out to youth at risk.
