I greet you all with pleasure knowing that your effort to find time reading my blog is something i do not take for granted. Here i am again making the most of what is available to me. I hope it does cause you to think and also update you about whats happening in my creative world. This directly streams out of my last blog post THE JOURNEY OF AN ARTIST ENTREPRENEUR. My journey, just like any other started some where with one little step after the other. This was obviously followed by one fall here and one fall there. Some times mum was on cue to pick me up and some other times, she couldn't. Sometimes i cried out so loud to get her attention and sometimes it did not hurt that much for me to be bothered. Now i do not remember a thing about such detail but it is only normal for any one raised by a mother to go through such a stage in somewhat similar fashion.
The birth of a vision does not differ much especially with dreams involved. Like we all have some identical parterns when growing up.We obviously experience similar frustrations trying to achieve our dreams and probably make a difference through what we are passionate about. Now i am passionate about so many things that include Music Sports, Cars, Dancing you name it. One thing though that is dear to my heart is art in various forms but also celebrating it through initiatives that inspire and bring meaning to life. I find it to be a unique therapy tool that enhances ones outlook towards whats beautiful and whats worth living for. My vision is clear and has been only in words and speech up until now. The speed at which i expected to have established so much as per all the dreams i have had is not one that any Human would appreciate. My understanding about why this is the case surely lies in my latest achievement. The decision to recruit upcoming visual artists has begun taking shape and indeed is making all the difference. I have identified four artists, whose willingness to work under our management as a company and Artist foundation is certainly going to grant us much needed dynamism that will affect the quality of our work. I plan on introducing them as the Journey of an Artist Entrepreneur unfolds before you on this blog. This will reveal the structure of the Vision and how it is growing as like minded people passionate about social responsibility with creativity coming to the fore. Till next time let me hope you share this piece of information with a friend relative associate you name it and who knows what could come of it. Regards Ludigo Andrew Salema

As a little boy i always felt excited at the sight of blank white pages and sharp pencils. Erasers too came in handy and this brought me to life in my little world. Every line impatiently put together brought such anxiety almost as if someone was watching over my shoulders in much more anticipation.
Boy no more yet the stakes are even higher. It took awhile for my drawings to get color as role models were hard to come by in the art world. I sometimes felt like the only artist or the best there was. Indeed i was my biggest fan not to mention my dear mother who did not need to say much for me notice her pride. Her silence confused me at times but most times became a driving force for me to discover how proud she would feel project after project. Raised in a culture whose focus on art is minimal yet oozing with cultural diversity, one is left confused at why then such potential is not tapped into. The journey is surely gaining momentum and professionalism is inevitable with this same culture evolving into a dynamic and well informed one as creativity and need for local enterprises becomes the focus. As a visual artist together with many in this trade our mandate is diverse. We ought to have passion, drive name it and most of all vision for without it people perish. We communicate in a way that might not draw crowds but one that would specifically bring change. We communicate with such intensity that words might not deeply avail reason. The revelation of mood, character and personality clearly brought to the fore in shapes and color remains our identity or signature. One though as to build a carrier and putting a price after such a transition from perception, expression to execution. I have sold a few but enjoyed my time in studio much more. I feel that selling art has developed me in many ways and I do not regret much about the direction I chose to take. The price is high and much as I don't like to consider myself as this, yes I am an entrepreneur. This is only a preview, there is more to come as I share this journey and lessons learn t |
