IT HAS BEEN AWHILE.

Embarking on an art career is such an experience that comes along with so much responsibility, having a vision on the other hand that involves engaging the community without a budget in place takes a lot of faith. It is no excuse for not having been on here for such a long time. If my last post had an auto delete, I think it would be hard to remember what it was about. Any way here I come again to update you on how far the business as well as the vision has gone. But before I even get straight to the point, am sure the economic situation has become a global language and watching so many major economies going through hard times so unimaginable from America the dream destination of so many, Greece, this morning the Italian Prime Minister trying to reassure his people of the prospects ahead and goodness one banana in Australia costs $4 unbelievable. This is an economy that is listed stable and obviously the Horn of Africa going through the worst drought ever, coming home Sugar prices are to blame for the death of a poor old lady who suffered a heart failure on finding out that a kg now costs $2 I could go on and on.

Every one seems to have their own prediction about numerous prospects that could be the redemption of world economies. I prefer to say that regardless of how paranoid or anxious we are getting, we are all affected and this is not about what political affiliation you are. This massive frying pan is roasting us in the painful spots. I have had my share of challenges that I won't bother you with just because I have a platform. I prefer progress regardless of all adversity for the vision I have as an artist is not up to me. God surely has a way for it to unfold at his timing and am glad that there is registered growth.

Ludigo Creations has endured numerous challenges and yet has come through to expand from just a place to buy paintings, prints and frames to a net work that you can order online. As a platform of expression for young and driven people we were happy to open our doors to the first intern Matovu Ibrahim from Makerere University Kampala. With him numerous projects have been done, all aimed at rebranding. Like all young, naive but driven individuals Matovu has grown in confidence week in week out. His commitment towards learning is quite an asset and was timely too having had to lose Mpoza Allan along the way. He has played such a significant role in executing all the design concepts put to him under considerable direction yet with room enough for him to freely express himself as an evolving designer. With him, there is a new product available in form of T-shirts with two of the designs already out and a lot more to go into print as this project gets to a sustainable level. I have had to put almost all my community involvement on hold which brings me so much sadness even if I know well enough that it that would require finances generated from the business. The lessons learnt at the moment could be the recipe for so many challenges ahead with not so much money moving around in form of donations to community projects supported and run by Ludigo Creations. The only option left is a sustainable model that will be a double edged sword for fights at hand and ahead.

This season is so far the best since we opened back in December. Operating an art business in the centre of the Kampala city in such an economical situation with inflation rising to as much as 17.8% is remarkable. Much should not be taken for granted and thanks to all of you out there that have supported us in every way. You may not have bought anything from us yet but your prayers, advice connections as well reading everything written on this website is humbling. Commenting on our new products both on facebook and twitter is encouraging. Some of you have even recommended us to prospective buyers and travelers please keep doing it. Some of you have donated money and paints for the full benefit of what the vision is all about and also made a stop at the Creations house in Kampala. Free consultancy has come in handy and to many that sing our praises to your friends and family words enough cannot do but continued prayers that you be blessed for forwarding this ripple across to the world that is hurting and craving for color in a time of economical confusion.
