THE JOURNEY OF AN ARTIST ENTREPRENEUR

As a little boy i always felt excited at the sight of blank white pages and sharp pencils. Erasers too came in handy and this brought me to life in my little world. Every line impatiently put together brought such anxiety almost as if someone was watching over my shoulders in much more anticipation.
Boy no more yet the stakes are even higher. It took awhile for my drawings to get color as role models were hard to come by in the art world. I sometimes felt like the only artist or the best there was. Indeed i was my biggest fan not to mention my dear mother who did not need to say much for me notice her pride. Her silence confused me at times but most times became a driving force for me to discover how proud she would feel project after project.

Raised in a culture whose focus on art is minimal yet oozing with cultural diversity, one is left confused at why then such potential is not tapped into. The journey is surely gaining momentum and professionalism is inevitable with this same culture evolving into a dynamic and well informed one as creativity and need for local enterprises becomes the focus.
As a visual artist together with many in this trade our mandate is diverse. We ought to have passion, drive name it and most of all vision for without it people perish. We communicate in a way that might not draw crowds but one that would specifically bring change. We communicate with such intensity that words might not deeply avail reason. The revelation of mood, character and personality clearly brought to the fore in shapes and color remains our identity or signature.

One though as to build a carrier and putting a price after such a transition from perception, expression to execution. I have sold a few but enjoyed my time in studio much more. I feel that selling art has developed me in many ways and I do not regret much about the direction I chose to take. The price is high and much as I don't like to consider myself as this, yes I am an entrepreneur. This is only a preview, there is more to come as I share this journey and lessons learn t
